Location

From San Diego, take I-8 (east), exit north on Lake Jennings Park Road, turn east on El Monte Road, about 8 miles to the entrance. From the entrance it's about 2.5 miles to the concession/launch area.

From Temecula and Riverside Counties, take I-15 (south) to Poway Road (east). Take Poway Road to Hwy-67 (south). Take Hwy-67 (south) to Lake Jennings Park Road (south). turn east on El Monte Road, about 8 miles to the entrance. From the entrance it's about 2.5 miles to the concession/launch area.

From Los Angeles and Orange Counties, take I-5 south to Hwy. 78 (east), take 78 (east) to I-15 (south), take I-15 (south) to Poway Road (east). Take Poway Road to Hwy-67 (south). Take Hwy-67 (south) to Lake Jennings Park Road (south). turn east on El Monte Road, about 8 miles to the entrance. From the entrance it's about 2.5 miles to the concession/launch area.


Days of Operation

El Capitan is now open on its winter schedule for fishing and  general boating Thursday through Monday boating only.  Water contact (waterskiing, wakeboarding, etc.) is  now permitted on Sundays only.   Permits on Thursday, Friday and Monday will only be available through the iron Ranger/Pay Station by the concession building (please bring exact change).  Rental boats are only available on Saturdays and Sundays.   On Sundays only there is a limit of 80 boats total on the lake at one time.  All persons (age 8 and older) entering reservoir property are required to pay daily use fees.

Boat Launch is $5/day/boat. Paved Ramp. Minimum craft size 10 ft., maximum 20 ft. 20 m.p.h. speed limit with no motor size limit.

Largemouth Bass - 15" minimum
Largemouth Bass Limit - five (5)

***NOTE***
As a club we strictly practice Catch and Release and strongly encourage everyone to do the same. It helps keep the lakes well populated with Bass, which makes any day fishing a better day of fishing (the more Bass, the more possibility of bites)!!!
